Looking for a fun evening filled with live music, good food and a great atmosphere? On Saturday, 12 September 2026, SoundBites Festival returns to the historic centre and harbour of Monnickendam for its 7th edition.
SoundBites is a free music festival spread across several locations in the heart of Monnickendam. Throughout the evening, you can walk from stage to stage and enjoy a varied programme of live bands, singers, choirs and other musical acts. All locations are only a few minutes’ walk from each other, making it easy to explore the town, discover new music and experience the festival at your own pace.
Free festival, music for everyone
Entrance to SoundBites Festival is completely free, including all live performances. Whether you come for one particular act or simply want to wander around and see what you discover, everyone is welcome.
And of course, SoundBites is about more than music. Along the festival route you’ll find plenty of opportunities to enjoy something to eat and drink. Food can be paid for directly at the food locations. For drinks, SoundBites tokens are available, which can be used at the festival bars.
Experience Monnickendam
One of the things that makes SoundBites special is its setting. Instead of one enclosed festival site, the festival becomes part of Monnickendam itself. The harbour, historic streets and squares form the backdrop for an evening full of music and activity.
So bring your friends or family, take a walk through the harbour, grab something to eat, discover the different stages and enjoy the atmosphere.
